Nicholas Kirkwood

Ok, so my new favorite shoe designer of the moment is Nicholas Kirkwood.

His whole shoe line is funky fresh and fun. I especially love the angled platforms.

What kind of privileges are bestowed on our dear friend Mr. Kirkwood for being my shoe designer of the moment? Well…

1) He is added to my list of favorite shoe designers, of course.

2) I get to relish the fact that I can’t afford any of his said shoes, and therefore complain and lust after them.

3) His shoes will become wallpaper on my Twitter page.

4) I will collect all my favorite shoes in iPhoto, under my “Shoes” file.

5) I will annoy my friends with the fact that I have a new favorite designer.

The Screaming Shoes

Once upon a time in a far off land, called The Santa Rosa Plaza. A young maiden was wandering the mall in search of the holy grail of shoes. Store after store disappointed her quest.

After indulging her depression with a large Orange Julius, the lass sauntered over to the mythical land of Macy’s. Where she stumbled upon a pair of shoes that were so beautiful, that they could have made a large man cry. Angels sang and clouds parted as she shyly crept up to the table that encased that beautiful shoes. After standing there for an awkwardly long time, the maiden picked up one of the shoes. She slid her finger down the 4 1/2 inch stiletto heel, studied the 2 inch platforms, and shamelessly stood there petting the suede heels.

One might be embarrassed about how the maiden reacted to trying on the shoes. As she stood up from putting on these magical heels, she walked over to the mirror and studied the finished product. People started to stare at the maiden as her eyes started to well and she whimpered from the beauty of the shoes. And that is how those particular heels got the nickname… The Crying Shoes.

After gathering herself from the emotional and spiritual experience, she asked the saleswoman to tell her the price. The girl desperately held the treasure as the salesperson looked up the price. Jaws dropped, windows cracked and curtains ripped when the price was unveiled. The young maiden looked down at the beacons of light cradled in her arms. It was a tragedy that an astronomical number was going to forever part her and her beloved heels.

The lass needed to leave the store before she caused a scene, she was heartbroken that she couldn’t go home with The Crying Shoes.

Off in the distance, the lass saw a gleaming light, she got curious and started to walk towards the light. The maiden needed a distraction to cure her loss. As she got closer to the light, the maiden found out that she had come upon the gold mine of shoes. Her heart almost jumped out of her chest as she entered the beautiful store. A small Mexican man warmly welcomed her and recommended that she look at their new collection of heels. The girl tip toed over to the collection, weary that she would be heartbroken again.

There… before her… God had placed a spotlight on one particular pair of heels. Music started to play… and there she knew that she had found her long lost love. The maiden rushed over to the fixture that was holding the treasures. The heels were 5 1/2 inch stilettos with 2 inch platforms. The shoes had black leather gladiator styled straps embellished with gold metal studs. She literally let out a small scream when she picked up the heels. Before she got attached, she checked the price. They were in her budget! It was meant to be! She tried them on and that solidified the decision… She was going to get these heels. After purchasing the heels, when she looked at them, held them or showed someone the heels, she let out a scream… naming them, The Screaming Shoes.

Happily screaming with joy, the maiden had found peace within and was now able to go home with her beautiful shoes. The lass was able to wear these particular shoes to many parties and social engagements. She had found love… She had found The Screaming Shoes.

Everyday, I wonder if anyone appreciates my efforts. Does anybody read my blog? If they do, they don’t leave comments (If your reading this, leave a comment. It would make me happy). I want to tell you all about my journeys into the fashion biz. I know I’m not the only one out there dreaming about shoes and fashion shows. If you’re like me, let me know. I would love to hear from you!
